Is the PowerShake worth it? Here is my take after using the product myself and comparing to other similar greens products.

I always recommend that people focus on living a healthy lifestyle rather than expecting supplements to do the work for them. That being said, here are the pros and cons of the Purium PowerShake.

Let’s start with the cons of this product.

Cons:

• Quality greens are expensive in general, and this is no exception (Price breakdown later)

• It does have grains in it which can be an interesting texture for some

• It can clump together when stirred with a spoon; shaker bottle or hand blender recommended

• If you drink it slowly and without regular stirring, the solid particles may settle at the bottom

Pros:

• It tastes good! This is very uncommon amongst green drinks. Even people who scoff at the idea of a green juice tend to enjoy the powershake

• It’s 100% certified organic

• It comes in biodegradable packaging

• It has healthy fats in the blend to allow fat soluble vitamins to be absorbed

• It has quality fiber to balance the formula

• It is a live food: Purium dries their juices at room temperature (heat kills the live enzymes)

  • When mixed with water, you are rehydrating the cells and actually have something equal to a fresh pressed juice! Most companies process with heat

Price comparison:

• While the price may appear to be a con, it is very fairly priced when compared to competitors

• At the loyal customer price, it is $2.50 per serving or $1.67 per serving on the first order with a $50 gift card

• When compared to a similar product by Athletic Greens (not organic); Purium is the better option by price and quality

Final thoughts:

Purium’s AppleBerry PowerShake is a great product by a great company. As long as you mix it well, you are good to go. As with any product, be sure to listen to your body and be aware of any detox symptoms that your body may have if you tend not to have the healthiest diet. Should detox symptoms occur, slow down your PowerShake intake to allow your body to adjust. The ingredients in this product are powerful.
